4th of July Weekend: Good to BAD =(

Our weekend started off GREAT with Rylee and I getting our toes done after Little Gym Friday. Rylee's first nail salon experience =)

Finished product: ADORABLE little toes, complete with a flag on both her big toes....so cute!

Saturday we spent the day at Aaron & Amber's parent's house in Terrell and stayed the night. The day was full of fun: lots of eating & swimming!

Rylee loves piggy back rides in the pool!

Rylee enjoyed playing with the yard art!

She thought the sparklers were pretty cool too! Later, when it was time to set off the bigger fireworks, Rylee was not a fan. I think they were to close and loud for her comfort.

Then....came the dreaded Sunday! When we got home and unpacked we went up to Lowe's to get a new grill and smoker for our new patio we had built out back. Rylee was walking around with Brad's tape measure measuring things like she saw Brad doing. All of a sudden she fell, and because she was holding the tape measure couldn't brace herself for the fall and she busted her mouth and two front teeth on the cement floor. It was HORRIBLE, blood everywhere, people rushing for ice and paper towel. We got her mouth washed out at the water fountain and brought her straight home.

While talking to our dentist (he was out of town of course), he had us check a couple of things, and decided it wasn't bad enough to go to the E.R. He told us to do several differ. things and told us what to watch out for and to bring her in first thing Tuesday morning.

Brad and I weren't comfortable that Ry wouldn't let us put ice on her mouth or barely wipe it to clean it, so we decided to go to the E.R. anyway just to make sure everything was ok. To make a long story short, my good friend Lauren was in town, THANK GOD, and her husband is a dentist. He encouraged us to come over for him to look at her before possibly wasting our time at the hospital. He was able to give us some good news, that she didn't need to go to the hospital and a couple of things do before seeing our dentist on Tuesday. He also called in a prescription mouthwash and pain medicine.

Needless to say, it was such a hard day for us yesterday! Today she is doing so much better! The swelling has gone down, she's eating soft foods (cut up in tiny pieces) and lots of frozen yogurt to help the swelling. She can't drink out of any of her sippy cups which has been very hard for her, but has one Minnie Mouse cup that has a soft straw that she's been able to use.

We go to the dentist first thing in the morning, so we hope to hear good news! I really hope her teeth will be ok and she won't lose her two front teeth. Keep your fingers crossed for us and say a little prayer that everything heals the way it is supposed to!!!

Thank you Scott and Lauren for ALL your help, we truly appreciate it and don't know what we would have done without ya'll!

Here are a couple of pics from yesterday =(

I hope everyone else enjoyed their 4th of July weekend!

Thank you to all the men and women who fight & have fought to keep us FREE and SAFE!!!
