Country Girl

Ry had been asking Brad to go fishing for quite a while. He took Ry and let her pick out a fishing pole, tackle box and some other fun gadgets. She ended up picking a Spider man fish pole. We decided to take a day trip to our deer lease in Coleman (near Abilene) Friday and let her enjoy the great outdoors. The first picture is when we first arrived. She was beyond excited!

Her first cast, she is a natural! This is a video of her first cast, I think you have to watch it from a computer. It didn't work when I tried from my phone.

 Ry didn't catch anything Friday, but Brad caught two fish. We tried to get Ry to hold it by the mouth, but she wouldn't.

She didn't mind touching it though!

She loved netting the fish Brad caught. Each time, she asked if the fish were ok when we threw it back in the water, such a sweet girl!

All 3 of us on the four wheeler, ready to head back to camp.

There was a burn band while we were there, so we roasted marsh mellows in the smoker. This picture cracks me up because it looks like we're in a trailer park. There are two other guys on the deer lease, so that's another camper behind ours.

Saturday was super gloomy, cold and windy! We didn't let it ruin our fun though!

I had to add this picture of Ry and Poppie. This is when Pops first bought the bb gun for Ry, she was about 6 months old! Where does the time go?

I made her a little target and we taped it up to what used to be the outhouse, before there was a bathroom out there....nice huh?!

Each time she shot, she would run up and see where she hit.

It's kind of hard to see, I need to circle all the holes, there's about 6, 2 of them are from Brad and I.

We were debating fishing before we left since it was so windy. We were so glad we did because Ry caught TWO fish, she was so excited!We still can't believe she caught two fish on that little pole! This was the first one...

This is the second, it was pretty big!
