How sad is this face?!

Best picture I had.....not sure why he's not happy when there's cake right in front of him (maybe b/c we/re holding his hands?).

Now he's happy

Love Ry's face, I think she wanted a bite of cake....

Love Eli's face in this one!

The Ludlow's.... minus Ms. Leah who didn't want to be in the picture.

Some friends stayed after the party to hang out and we ended up throwing all the kids in the bath tub. Tucker didn't have any clean clothes, so he borrowed some of Ry's...

Eli is O-N-E

Eli,
Our sweet boy, you are O-N-E today! So many emotions as I type this post and see all these pictures of you over the last year! I was so nervous the night before we went into the hospital! I was so anxious to meet you and prayed that everything would go smoothly and that you would come into this world strong, healthy and beautiful; you were all of those things and so much more!
You were born via C-section at 7:56 am weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz and were 20 inches long, perfect beyond words! We were so nervous to bring you home to your big sister, not sure how she would handle having to share her Mommy and Daddy. It was a rough little start trying to figure out how to function as a new family of 4, but you fit in perfectly and we ALL love you with all of our hearts! Rylee loves you so much and will even say so! She calls you "E-i" and loves to make you laugh! We love you so much sweet boy and can't wait to celebrate you today with all our family and friends!
Love,
Mommy

Some things you are doing at 1 year:

  • You are wearing 18-24 month clothes, size 4 shoe and size 4 diaper.

  • You drink three 6-8 oz bottles a day.

  • You had your first real milk bottle this week and loved it! I've been giving one milk bottle a day to get you used to it, and until your last can of formula runs out.

  • You are working towards only one nap a day. You've been getting harder and harder to lay down in the afternoons, so we are working on pushing back your morning nap.

  • You absolutely love sweets like your Mommy, but will go crazy for french fries/tator tots! When you see them you start saying, "Mmmmmm!"

  • You say: mama, dada, uh-oh, whasssthat (what's that), and your new one is na, which I've figured out is no. I've been saying a lot of that to you lately! It's funny, when Ry is doing something you don't like you scream, "na, na, na!" Pretty cute if I say so myself, you've told me and daddy "na" too...shocker!

  • You are absolutely into everything, my fear is you're going to be just like your sister....climbing and into everything! Your favorite is pulling open the gate to the stairs (which is my fault, I'm bad about locking it all the way) and start climbing up by yourself. We have started working on climbing up and down the stairs.

  • You used the walker at Grammy's house to climb up on the couch.

  • When you first see anybody, you hold your hand out in the air to say hi and you are awesome at waving, you give high-fives too!

  • Your favorite song is "the wheels on the bus" you love all the motions and crack up at the babies crying on the bus and a part I made up about saying "no it's mine" to your sister on the bus!

  • You've started clapping Yay for just about everything, cutest thing ( I say that a lot)!

  • You are so silly! It's hard to describe the things that you do that are silly, but one is when we ask you for kisses. You will throw your head back and shake your head no with a huge smile on your face, or push our face away or turn year head when we try to kiss you. When you actually do, it's the sweetest thing!

And now........ A year in pictures!

A Fun Little Family Getaway

My sister, Chris, Brad and I planned a fun little surprise for my parents for always watching the kids for us. They are always there when we need them to keep the kiddos, whether it be last minute, planned or an overnight sleepover, they are there with a smile on their face and ready to go!

We came up with the idea of a scavenger hunt! My sister and I bought my mom an outfit to wear for Saturday night and I let her borrow my boots and wrapped it up. Thursday when I took Ry and E over I had this clue wrapped up inside the boots.

The kids were also involved in the clues, clue # 2 and 3 are on my sister's blog. Click here for clue #2 and click here for clue #3.

Here we are waiting for mom and dad at Mi Cocina.

Surprise!!!

After enjoying a drink at Mi Cocina we headed to the Stockyards to walk around. We were just in time for the 4 o'clock cattle drive!
A picture of all of us and this cute cow...

We asked a guy to take a picture of all of us on the sidewalk with the sign in the background and he decided he could do better. He totally cleared traffic so we could take it in the road with the sign. I think he was looking for a tip.....

J and Ray met up with us at the hotel and we all went out to Cantina Laredo for dinner, wish I would have gotten a pic. Then, we headed to Billy Bobs where Robert Earl Keen was playing!

Awwwwww, LOVE them so much!!!

The boys played pool and then we got a table right next to the dance floor.
It's pretty fun to people watch all the variety of people, outfits and their dancing! Some dancers were really good, spinning all of the dance floor and one couple even did a lift! Makes me want to take lessons! We took a break from the people watching and dancing and went and watched some bull riding, it was pretty entertaining. Here is one of the clowns who jumped up on the rails for our entertainment....

I decided it would be fun to take a shot, Rachel was the only one on my band wagon, so here we are before...... and after.....

We had so much fun! Thank you Mom and Dad for all you do, Thank you Poppie & Maw for watching our kiddos and than you Ali for watching the Pomeroy kids and Baxter! Without ya'll we wouldn't have been able to make this night happen!
